Daniel Suárez’s storied racing career led him in joining Trackhouse Racing’s 2021 inaugural season in the elite NASCAR Cup Series. The 31-year-old driver from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, is currently in his 7th full season in the NASCAR Cup Series and 3rd for Trackhouse Racing. He became the first Mexican-born and just fifth foreign-born driver to win a Cup Series race by winning at Sonoma Raceway on June 12, 2022, in his 195th start. Daniel won the 2023 National Series Driver Award at NASCAR’s 15th Annual Drive for Diversity Awards. From go-karts to the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series - to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series - to the NASCAR Truck Series - to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Suárez has proven his mettle by winning.
His racing career began in Mexico in 2003, where he became a two-time national karting champion and competed in the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series. He later made the move to the U.S. to compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and West. In 2013, he was selected to participate in NASCAR's Drive for Diversity program, and he eventually caught the attention of Joe Gibbs Racing, earning him a contract with the team. Suárez has continued to make a name for himself in the racing world as a trail-blazing, talented and successful driver.
When Suárez is not behind the wheel of a stock car, he is often found cycling near his home in Huntersville, North Carolina, or around racetracks during the season. The health conscious Suárez also maintains a healthy diet and enjoys working out and restoring old cars.
