Following the injury he sustained in his crash in Free Practice 1 on Friday May 23, at Silverstone, during the Grand Prix of the United Kingdom and subsequent recovery progress – issued Thursday, June 5
Barcelona – Thursday, June 5: #79 Ai Ogura underwent a further medical assessment this afternoon, with Dr. Juan Monllau, the Surgeon who carried out the keyhole surgery to repair a fracture to the top of his right Tibia. While recovery progress is positive, unfortunately, the medical advice is that Ai is not yet sufficiently healed to allow him to ride in the Grand Prix of Aragon, this weekend.
Therefore, the Trackhouse MotoGP Team, respecting the medical guidance, will not run Ai Ogura at Motorland and he will, instead, continue his rehabilitation, targeting a comeback at Mugello for the Italian Grand Prix, in two weeks.
All at Trackhouse are disappointed that Ai is unable to get out on track but are fully supportive of the need for him to be fit to ride, before he gets aboard the #79 Trackhouse Aprilia RS-GP25. The team will continue to do everything possible to support him in his recovery and look forward to seeing him back soon.
