Trackhouse Racing's Ross Chastain finished fourth, and teammates Shane van Gisbergenfinished 14th and Daniel Suárez 22nd in Sunday's race at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.

In the final stage, Chastain ran in the top-12 and led eight laps - on lap 389, Chastain restarted in the fourth spot and maintained that position through the end of the race. Van Gisbergen continued his strong run and raced in the top-15 while battling a loose handling Chevrolet. Suárez reached the top-20 (even while 1 lap down) with less than 115 laps to go, but handling continued to be a challenge.

To open Stage 2, Chastain battled to gain his lap back. He took the wave-around under the lap 216 caution in an attempt to get back and stay on the lead lap. A caution shortly after the wave around secured Chastain's spot on the lead lap and he finished the stage, 15th. Van Gisbergen continued to move up through the field and finished Stage 2 in eighth. Suárez worked feverishly to try and gain track position back from one lap down but untimely finished the second stage in 26th.

In the first stage, Van Gisbergen quickly found his groove and worked his way forward from 22nd and into the top-15 before finishing the stage 12th. Suárez started 30th and was making progress throughout the field until contact from a competitor caused him to spin and brought out the caution. Suárez eventually fell one lap down and finished the stage 30th. Chastain slipped back a few positions early in the stage with a loose handling Chevrolet. The No. 1 car remained loose even after a pit stop for adjustments, and with a long green-flag run, Chastain went one lap down and to finish the stage 18th.

ROSS CHASTAIN

"There was a time where when we did the choose for the restart, there was only one car behind us. And then at the end, there were only two cars in front of us. Definitely both ends of the spectrum today for this No. 1 Moose Fraternity Chevrolet team. The left side’s torn up from the first half of the race because we struggled. We were getting beat up pretty bad. We went a lap down; made some good adjustments when we took the wave around. It was a free pit stop, per say, later and Phil Surgen (crew chief) did a bunch of adjustments, and it brought the car back to life. We caught that caution, which took us from around 10th into the top-five."

SHANE VAN GISBERGEN

"Good result today for my 88 SafetyCulture team. Had a fun race running up front most of the day but just slipped back a bit at the end. Proud of my team for continuing to improve every weekend. Looking forward to finishing strong in Phoenix."

DANIEL SUAREZ

"Today was a struggle to find the handle on the Jockey Chevy. We worked on the balance to get the car turning in the center of the corners, but I was really burning the rear tires off the car, which hurt us on the longer runs that we had. The guys worked hard all day on pit road, we just couldn’t get back on the lead lap to compete near the end."
