Trackhouse Racing's Ross Chastain finished 11th, Shane van Gisbergen 25th, and Daniel Suárez 16th in Sunday night's 400-mile NASCAR Cup Series race at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway.

Chastain raced in the top five in the final stage, but couldn't make a late charge as he did last week when he won at Charlotte. Chastain battled for a top-10 late Sunday but was nudged out in the closing laps.

Suárez started slow in the first stage but began moving through the field in the second stage and broke into the top 15 in the final stage before finishing 16th.

Van Gisbergen enjoyed one of his best oval showings and looked like he might contend for a top-15 finish, but late race issues left him with a 25th-place finish.

Chastain started fifth, Van Gisbergen 23rd, and Suárez 32nd, and they held their positions in the first stage, which ran caution-free in the early evening sunshine. Chastain finished 10th, Van Gisbergen 22nd and Suárez 32nd.

As darkness fell during the second stage, cautions began to slow the field. The Trackhouse Chevrolets dodged all four incidents and started climbing through the field. Chastain finished 12th, Van Gisbergen 13th and Suárez 24th.

The NASCAR Cup Series returns to action on Sunday, June 8, at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.

ROSS CHASTAIN

“Overall, a fairly strong night in the Busch Light Country Chevrolet. We started the race too loose and then Phil tightened me up and it was too much, so we worked on finding the balance. Just one spot short of a top-10 but looking forward to next weekend at Michigan.”

DANIEL SUAREZ

“It was an OK day for this No. 99 Tootsie Orchid Lounge Chevrolet team. We fired off a little bit too far off again. The speed got a little bit better, but it took us pretty much a stage and a half to get it where we needed it to be. It was just difficult to pass. It was an average night. We just have to continue to keep working on it.”

SHANE VAN GISBERGEN

"Frustrated with 25th because we had a fast car. My Red Bull Chevy was good, just put myself in some bad spots. But definitely had many positives tonight, some good moments on restarts. Gutted that our result doesn’t show the race we had tonight."
