Aero Performance Engineer

Job Overview: This position is responsible for calculating and managing weekly aero configurations and appropriate aero map offsets. Collaborate with the race engineering group to determine optimal body/underwing build and platform for each race. Develop aero tools for use in simulation and trackside. Support driver in the loop simulation, wind tunnel, and track testing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calculate and manage weekly aero configurations for vehicle simulation
- Calculate appropriate as built vehicle aero map offsets for each race
- Collaborate with race engineering group on optimal body, underwing, and platform configurations for each race
- Validate aero maps and offsets with track data
- Develop aero tools for use in simulation and trackside
- Support driver in the loop sessions, wind tunnel testing, and track testing as necessary
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of work-related experience with aero performance tool generation and use.

- Proficiency in coding with tools such as matlab and python
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or similar
- Strong data analysis and fitting skills
- Motorsports or automobile experience desired
