Trackhouse Racing development driver Connor Zilisch will take the next step in NASCAR career with a busy schedule in 2025. Zilisch will compete full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports and is scheduled to make his NASCAR Cup Series debut with Trackhouse Racing in March at Circuit of the Americas (COTA).
Zilisch owns boy-next-door good looks, a bright smile, and impeccable manners that mask a ruthless competitor who honed his skills on the road courses of Europe and the short tracks of America. The 18-year-old Mooresville, N.C., native stormed onto the racing scene in 2024 compiling an impressive resume that includes winning his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Watkins Glen International plus two Craftsman Truck Series poles, victories at the Rolex 24 in Daytona, the Twelve Hours of Sebring, four ARCA races and a CARS Tour event.
The Xfinity Series victory by Zilisch at Watkins Glen was an impressive accomplishment. He won the pole and led the most laps (45 of 90) on the way to scoring the win. Zilisch became just the seventh driver in series history to win in his debut. His average running position in the race was a sizzling 4.39 – best of any driver. Zilisch made a total of four NXS starts, racking up three top-fives and three top-10 finishes in four starts.
Zilisch also found success behind the wheel of the Spire Motorsports No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. He made six starts in the series, highlighted by winning the pole position in his first-ever start at COTA with a track record lap in qualifying (93.012 mph) and back up that performance with a fourth-place finish in the race. He also captured the top starting spot at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Zilisch won twice in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship series with Era Motorsports. He kicked the 2024 season off with a win in the LMP2 class at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway, becoming the second youngest driver to win the prestigious event. He backed up that performance with a victory in the 12 Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway, standing on the victory podium in the two most prestigious endurance races in North America.
In addition to competing in NASCAR and IMSA, Zilisch also stayed busy in 2024 in the ARCA East and West Series. He made a total of nine starts and the results were impressive. He racked up five wins (Dover Motor Speedway, Flat Rock Speedway, Iowa Speedway, Indianapolis Raceway Park, and Phoenix Raceway) and eight top-fives. Zilisch also won a CARS Tour late model stock car event at the legendary Hickory Motor Speedway. He is also a 10-time Trans-Am TA2 class race winner and the 2022 Mazda MX-5 championship runner-up where he also claimed rookie-of-the-year honors.
Zilisch also enjoyed success off the track in 2024. In August, Red Bull selected Zilisch as a Red Bull Athlete, a relationship that will certainly be beneficial to the young driver as his career continues to grow in the coming years.
The 18-year-old Mooresville, N.C., teen began his career racing go karts. Ten years of competitive kart racing, including a stint in Europe as an 11-year-old racer, gave Zilisch the tools to adapt quickly when he moved to compete professionally in early 2021. Zilisch won the top prize in the Mazda MX-5 Cup scholarship in 2021. In his first entire season of MX-5 Cup racing in 2022, he finished second in the standings while also claiming Rookie of the Year honors. In 2023 he earned four victories in 10 races.
He also won five of the twelve Trans-Am Series TA2 races he competed in, as well as dominating the Trans-Am Series TA class race at VIR. Zilisch led from start to finish in the all-green-flag race and crossed the line with a 46-second advantage over second place. He became the youngest driver to win a TA race in his first career start in the class. He made history by winning two races in different classes in a single weekend, a feat never accomplished in the Trans Am Series.

Trackhouse founder and owner Justin Marks launched PROJECT91 in 2022 with the goal of creating a racing brand that transcends the sport attracting the world's best drivers to NASCAR.
"It just puts fuel in the tank as far as we're trying to build something here where the greatest drivers in the world have a place that they can call home if they want to try NASCAR racing," said Marks. "For us to put it in Victory Lane, it just shows, I think, the world that this PROJECT91 is a very, very elite effort. It's not about vanity. It's not about just sponsorship. It's not about social media. It's about putting a program together that can actually win and tell great stories. I think the fact that we put it in Victory Lane, it just galvanizes our mission in trying to attract the greatest motorsport talent in the world."
