Job Overview: Responsible for the precise fitting, alignment, and mounting of the race car's body panels and components onto the chassis. This role is critical for ensuring the car's performance, safety, and compliance with stringent NASCAR rules and aerodynamic specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble body panels and body parts on race cars.
- Measure and meet tolerance requirements per engineering build specifications.
- Conduct thorough inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with Nascar rules, and Trackhouse quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Responsible for accuracy and completion of all check lists necessary and for maintaining build specs and maintaining proper parts inventory.
- Necessary to stay up to date on all NASCAR rule updates and Trackhouse build specifications
- Works with other team members to install bodies to desired settings in a timely manner
- Working with current Supervisor to consistently seek opportunities to improve the product produced within the department through development of and/or revising existing processes.
- Anticipates changes in strategy and plans accordingly, to include timely communication to those impacted.
- Verifying race cars meet the template specifications provided by NASCAR throughout the manufacturing process.
- Must safely operate machinery and/or equipment according to recommended safety specifications, including use of all necessary protective equipment, while identifying any safety hazards and reporting all risks immediately to a supervisor.
- Responsible for keeping work area clean and always organized.
- Provide assistance to other team members on other duties as appropriate.
- Other duties & special projects will be added as assigned
Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of all mechanical components and structural framework of race cars required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NASCAR specifications required.
- Experience using portable CMM’s (Romer, Faro, etc) is a plus.
- Desire to work in a collaborative, demanding, and fast-paced development environment
- Flexibility in work hours and patience with a dynamic schedule
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with the team.
- Previous experience in NASCAR Cup, NXS, or Truck series is a significant advantage.
- Basic computer skills preferred to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
