QC Lead Manager

Job Overview: QC Lead Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of processes, equipment, and technicians as it relates to the Quality Control department. Responsibilities include leading a group of metrologists, managing vendor relationships, maintaining equipment, and performing quality control tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and development of all aspects of all QC processes
- Manage team of metrology specialists and technicians
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain metrology equipment
- Assist with conducting assessment of new technology, methods, and implementation
- Maintain, organize, and populate databases
- Operate CMM and surface scanners
- Calibrate, validate, set up, operate, and maintain Hawkeye system
- Assist with conducting routine and nonroutine inspections/quality control of all aspects of the race vehicles and equipment
- Coordinate QC efforts and specifications with aero/design/fabrication/race engineering groups
- Work with design group to develop necessary metrology fixturing
- Align Trackhouse metrology practices with NASCAR systems
- Safely operating machinery according to recommended safety specifications, including use of all protective equipment necessary (protective eyewear, gloves, mask, earplugs, etc.) while identifying any safety hazards and reporting all risks immediately to a supervisor
- Provide assistance to other team members on other duties as appropriate.
- Other duties & special projects will be added as assigned
- Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments on issues d other departments on issues discovered
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer science, or similar
- 3+ years of work-related experience with installation, positioning, and measurement of highly detailed aerodynamic surfaces, preferably in the racing industry.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring devices and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Manual dexterity and good eyesight are required to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to concentrate on detailed work for long periods of time and perform moderate to heavy lifting.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and use safety equipment correctly.
- Must maintain a high level of quality and ability to conform to the wants/needs of the race team target settings
